Castel Sant’Angelo has a rich and complex history as a mausoleum, fortress, and papal residence and Dolce&Gabbana Alta Sartoria tapped into every layer of that legacy.

The designers drew inspiration from the Church’s rich visual language and garments once worn by popes and cardinals, now re-imagined with the brand’s signature opulence.
Echoing the Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces of Michelangelo, Bernini, and Raffaello, each look tells the story of Italian craftsmanship, where every detail is executed with extraordinary skill. Think embroidered gold, deep velvet, sacred silhouettes, and fabrics heavy with meaning. It was a tribute not just to religion, but to ritual, craftsmanship, and tradition.

The show was a reminder that in Rome, beauty, power, and storytelling are forever intertwined. Capes, trains, and bibs: every creation strikes a perfect balance between devotion, discipline, and aesthetic.
