From what to know and wear, to new drops and the ultimate spots to dine – Esquire Weekly is your go-to reference.

    The Celebrity Crush

There’s cool, and then there’s Esquire Middle East Alumini Dhafer L’Abidine in a pinky-orange suit at Wimbledon. The actor stepped into the Ralph Lauren Suite looking equal parts effortless and elevated whispering confidence without trying too hard.

    The Watch

Bvlgari’s Octo Finissimo isn’t just a timepiece. It’s a statement. In a world still obsessed with round dials and square cases, the Octo carves its own path: eight sides framed by a perfectly round bezel, striking that rare balance between rebellion and refinement.

    BVLGARI OCTO

Neither round nor square, but a harmonious and balanced symbiosis of the two shapes, the Octo design embodies a nod to Bvlgari’s Roman roots and rich heritage. Its eight-sided structure framed by a round bezel proclaimed a break with the aesthetic conventions of classic watches. In 2014, the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon was born and distinguished as the thinnest mechanical tourbillon.

It’s Roman in spirit, modern in execution, and unafraid to disrupt the conventions of classic watchmaking. Whether you’re pairing it with a tux or a tee, it adapts to your rhythm.

    The Collection

When Giorgio Armani joins forces with Kith, you pay attention. Their second collaboration – a summer drop dubbed Estate – effortlessly merges Italian heritage with New York cool. The collection is both breezy and built to last, with silhouettes that honour summer’s ease and the formality of fine tailoring. Think: silk twill blazers with deep pockets, monogrammed lounge sets that look as good on yachts as they do on streets, and bomber jackets in custom hues that whisper understated luxury. And yes, for the first time, women are in on it too.

The charm lies in the details – tonal embroidery, flowing lines, and a focus on material quality that makes each piece feel like a holiday you never want to end. Launched with exclusive events in Malibu, Forte dei Marmi, and the Hamptons, it’s not just a collection – it’s a summer state of mind, dressed head to toe.

    The Restaurant

KIRA is an upscale Japanese-Mediterranean dining destination located within Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. Conceptualised by the team behind the renowned CLAP Restaurant, KIRA effortlessly blends Mediterranean warmth with Japanese precision, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance.

Everything about KIRA feels deliberate, yet unpretentious. The lunch menu is a masterclass in refined flavour: start with the Aubergine Dengaku (sweet, smoky, with a miso glaze) before diving into the raw bar’s Chutoro Nigiri Aburi or Hamachi Carpaccio kissed with kumquat.

Seafood lovers will delight in the Fresh Oysters, served either natural or with tart Ponzu, Daikon Negi and aromatic Layu Chili Oil as well as the decadent Caviar Platter. The Truffle Wagyu Gyozas, served with a truffle ponzu sauce promises rich flavours and comforting textures. Grilled Chicken Wings, marinated with a vibrant mandarin kosho seasoning and the tender Japanese A5 Wagyu Kushiyaki Skewers showcase the smoky finesse of KIRA’s robata grill.

And when the mood shifts to sunset? The bar comes alive. No booking needed – just walk in, order a cocktail, and snack on Wagyu gyoza, spicy tuna and a perfectly grilled skewer or two.

KIRA isn’t just another fine-dining concept, it’s a must try culinary experience.

    The Movie

Superman is back, and this time, it’s personal. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original Super Hero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humour and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.

The film follows Superman’s journey to reconcile his heritage as the Kryptonian Kal-El with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas, and his selfless determination to use his power for good as humanity’s protector.  Guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned, he is the embodiment of truth, justice and a better tomorrow.

    Superman Film Still 2 1

This isn’t about smashing skyscrapers (though don’t worry, there’s plenty of action). It’s about identity. About Kal-El’s inner war between his Kryptonian lineage and Kansas upbringing. About being hopeful in a world that’s grown cynical. In short, it’s the Superman movie we didn’t know we needed – and one that might just restore our belief in the genre.

Superman, which will be in theatres and IMAX® regionally on 10th July is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

    The Safari Experience

Desert safaris are often overhyped and underwhelming. Platinum Heritage flips the script. Their Platinum Desert Safari isn’t about dune bashing or gimmicks; it’s about eco-luxury done right. Think: Defender 130s gliding across protected terrain, six-course meals designed by Michelin talent, and zero plastic in sight.

Every detail feels intentional. Your reusable bottle? Saves the environment. Your meal? Locally sourced. Even the used cooking oil gets turned into biofuel. It’s a masterclass in sustainability and the numbers speak volumes: 1.5 million plastic bottles saved, 388 litres of oil recycled in just four months, and a chef’s garden thriving on kitchen waste.

But beyond the stats, it’s the serenity. You’re not tearing through dunes; you’re gliding through silence. Platinum Heritage proves that luxury and responsibility aren’t opposites. They’re the future.

    The Game

It’s official: the NBA is becoming a fixture in the Gulf, and the 2025 Abu Dhabi Games are proof. This year’s pre-season matchups bring the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers to Etihad Arena: a showdown between two of the league’s most exciting rosters. Expect finesse from Jalen Brunson, intensity from Joel Embiid, and serious fireworks from Paul George and Tyrese Maxey.

But it’s not just the on-court drama that makes these games a must-watch. From exclusive hospitality to interactive fan events and NBA Cares activations, the entire weekend becomes a celebration of hoops culture. Whether you’re courtside or watching from across the globe, this is more than just sport – it’s spectacle. It’s the NBA, but with a bit more sun, flair, and regional flavour.
